Be a Host for Off-Leash Area’s 2025 Neighborhood Garage Tour

Do you have a two-car garage? Do you love the performing arts? Do you enjoy bringing people together?
If you answered “yes,” then you could be a great host for the Neighborhood Garage Tour!

Off-Leash Area’s Neighborhood Garage Tour (NGT) is the company’s arts access program where the company travels from community to community with a truck full of lighting, staging, seating, performers, and more. Each weekend of the NGT the company transforms a typical 2-car garage into a 40-seat black box theater, bringing joy, laughter, and wonder directly into metro neighborhoods.

A Garage Tour Host is a homeowner who, with our support, takes the lead in gathering an audience for the performances on a weekend of the tour. Hosts are encouraged to work with neighbors to help in their duties of promotion and getting the garage ready for the Garage Tour to arrive!

Off-Leash Area is especially looking for households where a person with disabilities resides, as Off-Leash Area’s mission includes working for equity and opportunity for all persons with all abilities.

Every year, past Garage Tour Hosts have asked to host again!

Doma Dance Theater’s CHYŽA: Week-Long Micro Residencies Program

Doma Dance Theater continues CHYŽA, a week-long micro residencies program.

“Chyža” (huzhzhah), meaning house, room, cottage, or cabin, is a word only found in the Carpatho Rusyn language.

With this in mind, we invite artists needing concentrated, unrestricted, settled time in one place to make our studio your chyža. Possible intentions are (but are not limited to) cleaning work, long rehearsals, set development, prop work, pre-tech research, low-tech preproduction, small showings, micro intensives, solo research, etc.

Residency weeks run Monday-Sunday.
Residents determine their own schedule but are encouraged to use a minimum of 10 hours in the studio.
Additionally, artists receive 1-2 hours of mentorship/eyes/ears/chat/Zoom during their stay from one artist from the Doma Team, mentor availability is pending.

This is an ongoing program with a rolling application form for residency weeks available January-May.

Assist in Possible Minnesota Touring for Your Work

Hello, fellow artists! This is Mathew Janczewski, and I’m reaching out to gather information for the 2025/2026 dance season. If you’ve already planned your upcoming season (or when you do), I’d love for you to share your schedule and ideas with me.

I’m volunteering to help coordinate next season’s activities and to provide input into DanceMN in collaboration with the Minnesota Presenters Network (MPN). Our goal is to facilitate potential pop-up performances that could take place before or after your main productions. These pop-up events could also open doors to block booking opportunities, making the process easier for both you and the presenters.

If you’re interested in participating or want to learn more, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m excited to help make connections and support our vibrant dance community.

Please note that there is also a direct way to input your information into the Minnesota Presenter’s Website if you are a Member (which has great artist pricing).

Donate Your Single-Use Plastics for The Awe Factor Performance

Plastic Free Challenge Plastic Drive: On Thursday, February 27, Analog Dance Works is presenting a reprise performance of The Awe Factor, a contemporary dance production of a horror dream landscape on a plastic island that premiered in May 2024. This reprise is part of Hennepin County’s Plastic-Free Challenge. We are bringing this work back to the Alliance Française Mpls/St. Paul, who is once again graciously letting us trash their lobby for the show! Help contribute to the production by donating your single-use plastics!

The Awe Factor uses 10 cubic yards of single-use plastics. That’s a lot of plastic! You can help us bring this show to life by dropping off your plastic bags, bubble wrap, mail packaging, and unsoiled food bags at one of our drop-off sites:

Donation Deadline: Tuesday, February 25
Can’t make it to a drop-off site? Reach out to Brenna at director@analogdanceworks.org for other options.
