Get ready to sparkle on stage this season! Collide is casting local youth dancers for our Holiday Spectacular – a magical celebration featuring iconic scenes from The Nutcracker and festive dance storytelling set to your favorite holiday hits!
Join us for an unforgettable winter performance filled with jazz, contemporary, ballet, and character work. From Sugar Plum dreams to Santa’s Workshop, this is your chance to shine in a show that brings holiday joy to all ages! The Holiday Spectacular will offer young dancers an opportunity to perform alongside the Collide professional company at the beautiful Luminary Arts Center, home to the MN Opera, in the North Loop.
Roles and Casting: Seeking youth dancers, ages 8-18, who are proficient in ballet or jazz dance. Additional skills (tap, acro, pointe) are a plus! Specialty roles include Clara, Toy Soldiers, Holiday Elves, Toys, and more featured soloists alongside an ensemble cast.
Audition Date: Sunday, August 17
Ages 8-10: 1:00-1:30pm
Ages 10-13: 1:30-2:00pm
Ages 13-18 2:00-3:00pm
Audition Expectations: Auditions are located at Collide Theatrical Dance Company. Wear dance attire (ballet/jazz shoes recommended) and bring a headshot and resume, if available. Dancers should expect a short across-the-floor combination and choreography to be taught on site. Please be prepared to stay for the full audition slot. Roles will be cast by Monday, August 18. Full Youth Company Technical Rehearsals at the Luminary Arts Center: Tuesday, December 2, 5:00-8:30pm; Wednesday, December 3, 5:00-8:30pm
Performance 1 and 2: Thursday, December 4 from 9:30am-12:30pm and 6:00-8:30pm
Performance 3 (Gala): Friday, December 5 from 6:00-9:00pm
Performance 4 and 5: Saturday, December 6 from 1:00-3:30pm and 6:30-9:00pm
Performance 6: Sunday, December 7 from 1:00-3:30pm
Please arrive with hair and makeup ready. Parents, please pick-up during break hours. Parking and drop-off information for The Luminary Arts Center to come.
