Student Dancer Auditions for A Minnesota Nutcracker will be held on Sunday, September 21 at Ballet Royale Minnesota. This is a fantastic opportunity for dancers to participate in a professional ballet production and be part of one of the most popular holiday events in the area.
A Minnesota Nutcracker will be performed at Ames Center from December 12–14 and at Northrop Auditorium from December 16–17.
Auditions are organized by age and pointe experience. There will be a mandatory Zoom parent meeting on Thursday, September 18 at 7:30pm. A $30 non-refundable audition fee is required and must be paid before the audition.
Pre-registration is required. To audition, students must complete the registration form and pay the audition fee in advance.
Audition and Check-in Times:
3:30-4:45pm: Dancers ages 7-19 with no pointe experience or less than 1 year of pointe.
Check-in: 3:00-3:30pm
5:00-6:45pm: Dancers ages 12+ with more than 1 year of pointe experience.
Check-in: 4:30-5:00pm
Please note, this is a casting audition with mixed ages and levels, so dancers may be released before the end of the audition. An early release does not reflect how well a dancer performed, but indicates they have completed auditions for the roles suited to their age and dance experience.
Mandatory Parent Meeting:
For those interested in auditioning, parents must attend the Zoom meeting on Thursday, September 18 at 7:30 pm. This meeting will cover production protocols, key dates, and the commitment involved. After submitting the registration form, the Zoom link will be provided.
