Annika Johansson is hosting free outdoor movement workshops as part of a developing project that explores ritual, attention, and shared public space.
On a hill in the park, we will explore how dance can heighten collective attention to a seemingly ordinary location, continuing to transform it into a shared site of presence and gratitude. Finding non-human dance partners and our sense of connectedness through movement, we will improvise collectively with guided prompts.
Come if you’re interested in improvising outside, are curious about my future work, or enjoy engaging in still-developing ideas and offering feedback!
Last Date: Sunday, October 19, 2:00-4:00pm
Workshops are free to join. Sign up by emailing annikajoyhans@gmail.com.
Participants should be prepared to move on uneven ground in an outdoor setting. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and clothes that may get dirty. Free street parking is available nearby. We will meet in the grass next to the park’s tennis courts. In the event of rain, we will meet under the park’s picnic shelter.
