Taylor has a work in the Screen program of our upcoming production The Cohort 2023, and will be in town to share insights on her work during the Q&A following that program, and through this class! This class will focus on tapping into groove, musicality, and rhythm, exploring technique from various dance styles including Afro, Hip-Hop, and House. Taylor’s open level class welcomes all levels and styles of movers to explore a fusion of movement and choreography within these styles.
Bonus: All class attendees get into the Cohort Screen event to get the chance to see Taylor’s work!

Taylor Madgett received her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance with a certificate in Hip-Hop studies from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2020. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and received her Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Emory University. Taylor specializes in Hip-Hop dance and street dance choreography and recently co-founded Raw Groove. Raw Groove is a dynamic duo consisting of Constance Harris and Taylor Madgett, created in 2021 after the two women met and formed a creative partnership during their time in graduate school. Raw Groove is a dance company that performs, choreographs, and teaches in the Denver metro, Aurora and Boulder areas. Taylor is also currently a member of VisKosity dance company and Rennie Harris’ Grassroots company. Her current research focuses on exploring identity and heritage through movement.
