Rejuvenate. Regenerate. Remember. On this transitional day, marking the end of harvest season and the growing darkness of winter (All Souls Day, Día de los Muertos, Samhain, Feast of the Ancestors), join us in the GloFFUC: the Global Feminist Funk Underground Club.
Imagine a group of feminists from all over the world, specifically from global communities of color, meeting in an underground club deep in the center of the world. This space is where they dance fiercely, to throw off the residue of their endless struggles to organize and push back against injustices, and to meditate on renewal. Inaugurated in 2019, Ananya Dance Theatre has revived GloFFUC to offer a space of resilience amidst these times of amplified injustice.
Join us as we gather in meditation and intentional dance to meet the moment. Facilitated by Ananya Chatterjea and Kealoha Ferreira and MC’d by Davente Gilreath, we will cultivate a practice of joyful dance and embodied meditation that sees and honors the many contexts of our resistance and survival. Come experience intimacy and solidarity through dance!
